Your Slip is showing

Guess what??? I think the slip is making a comeback! This gal couldn't be any happier. Sadly, the slip has been losing steam over the years. My grandma gave me some of her slips a few years ago. They are beautiful! They're like artwork. I ALWAYS wear a slip under a dress. It seems like nobody wears them anymore. In fact, going to shop for them...I gotta tell ya, pickin's are slim. Until...I saw this article in my InStyle magazine last month. Now, I'm not sure I'd go THIS fancy. But it gives me hope.

Aren't these cute? The article talks about how if you have a Little Black Dress you'd like to freshen up, the bottom of the slip is made to show at the bottom giving your dress a "flip"!

I think I'm one of these "modern" girls you speak of! I hardly ever wear a slip! Most of my skirts and dresses have slips built into them. If a skirt requires a slip, I don't wear it. Maybe if they start making them really cute like these ones, I'll have to start wearing them! I can't be behind on the style, now!

Oh, and I almost forgot-
Last nights Bachelor! SO glad Shannon is G-O-N-E! That last scene of them on the sofa with WAY too much lip gloss and pieces of black napkin stuck to them and the nose pickin'!!! Eeeewww!!! I'm glad Nikki is gone, too. She is just whines too much!
I'm pulling for Melissa and Stephanie.

That is an interesting idea! I don't wear slips anymore just because I barely wear dresses anymore. I am a pants girl. I do remember wearing them...funny how many people still do wear them.

I might be one of the ONLY ones that wear slips anymore. I feel naked without one. In fact I wore my half slip so much when I was pregnant that the waist is too big on me now. I need to go buy a new one. I LOVE slips!

Oh, and I'm LOL at your title for this post. Remember when you were younger and someone would whisper, "your slip is showing" and it was SOOOOOO EMBARRASSING? It was like the end of the world. hahahaha!

That is so hilarious! I, like Dolly, remember being horrified if someone told me my slip was showing! Oh my goodness, haven't thought about that in ages!

When my mom, sister and I stayed in a hotel in Atlanta several weeks ago my sister had this magazine and we had the slip conversation then. She's got a fancy sewing machine and can make anything so she was saying she may try to make these. But, my question was wouldn't you have to make them very specific to each dress length otherwise it wouldn't work, right?

The Bachelor...I'm with Toni about Shannon...BYE BYE!! At least she realized he DIDN'T want to kiss her. I'm pulling for Melissa and Jillian still. Poor Stephanie just ain't doing it for Jason though - he hasn't kissed her yet and it's not like he's really holding back on those kisses...know what I mean?

I'm a slip girl. I wear them with every skirt/dress. Call me old fashioned, but that is how Jenius raised me. I like the slip. I feel feminine and Roy likes it too!!

I'm with you girls on the Bachelor...I am SO glad Shannon is gone.

Love this post, Ang. Is this an article from LBD, LRW? I LOVE those slips and would wear the rhinestoney looking one! Not too sure bout those feathers.

It seemed my slip ALWAYS showed when I was little. My prob was I was so short that slips were always too long for me and I'd have to roll them over at the waist. Embarrassing. That and you know how your slip will sometimes stick to your tights? That's why I LOVE Static Guard!

I am the non-slip girl. If it needs a slip, it doesn't get purchased. I know I have a couple but I couldn't tell you where to find them. I am not even a hose girl anymore (unless it is with tall boots). I do still wear panties unlike the gals in Hollywood, thankfully, huh?

You have to go read my comment in my "comment section" of my blog about the Bachelor!

That's right, Angela...you be a good Southern girl and you wear your slip. I feel like everybody can see my privates if I have on a dress with no slip. I could NEVER go without panties.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and
it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!

LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell
someone!

I still wear a slip sometimes to church and if I really have to I will wear one to work. Yes, it is embarrassing to have someone whisper "excuse me, your slip is showing" Still makes me almost gasp. I had to tell a younger woman at MacDonalds that her slip was showing. Her face turned so red as she tried to pull it up. But she thanked me
