I took a piece of plastic clay
And idly fashioned it one day.
And as my fingers pressed it, still
It moved and yielded to my will.

I came again when days were past;
The bit of clay was hard at last.
The form I gave it still it bore,
And I could fashion it no more!

I took a piece of living clay,
And gently pressed it day by day,
And moulded with my power and art
A young child's soft and yielding heart.

I came again when years had gone:
It was a man I looked upon.
He still that early impress bore,
And I could fashion it no more!

Will getting baptized...

This morning at church, my 6 year old was baptized. Paul has baptized many people over the years and we've seen a lot of life-changing, moving, emotional moments. But as Will's mom and Paul's wife, today was SO special to me. I brought Wesley into the service for the beginning so he could watch his big brother. (You will hear him cheering for Will in the video) It made me laugh that Will kept waving at the screen. That's my boy!

Creek, labor day, school.

This week I took the boys to the park while I was on the phone with a friend. I always bring a chair and watch them play. Well, THIS day, they wanted to strip down and wade through the creek. Since I didn't want to make a fuss while on the phone, I just rolled with it. They had a BLAST. Then...

I called Paul to tell him about our day and that the boys had been in the creek at White Oak Park.
Paul: "Oh no!"
Me: "What's wrong with that?"
Paul: "The county officials told me that they literally have to pull snakes out of that water to keep the park safe. They have even found WATER MOCCASINS!"
Me: "AGHHHHH!"
Paul: "If you need a good reason to keep the boys out of the creek, use that one next time. It's true and it will work."
Yep, ummmm, do you see how cloudy that water is??? I have heebie jeebies just thinking about what is lurking underneath. Eeeeeeeek!

Labor Day - Will learned how to ride a 2 WHEELER! Paul has the patience of Job. I'm so thankful he was teaching him instead of me. We decided to go on a family bike ride at the trail for Labor Day. I was pulling Wesley in the wagon/chariot.

There is a super cute hair place for kids called Pigtails and Crewcuts. I took Wesley there to get a haircut for school. He chose to sit in the airplane while he watched Madagascar 2. He got a prize a tattoo and a lollipop! Worth every penny!
WESLEY'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! This is Wesley and Maddox showin' some school spirit!

Wesley's school is in the most beautiful little town. There is a town square within walking distance. I wanted to take Wesley downtown to pray with him before his first day. I had the best time with him. He prayed..."Dear God, please help me to stay on GREEN at school today so I can get a prize from the treasure box."

Getting ready to walk to school.
He got started right away on a frog picture and told me "you can leave now momma."
I can't believe I'm at the stage of life where I have 2 kids in school. It's a bittersweet feeling. However as you can tell from my attire, I was ready to work out! I hit the trail with a friend and we biked 15 miles. Whoohoo!style="visibility:visible;">

Daffodil?

Our internet has been off and on for a week and I haven't been able to post, check emails, ebay...nothing. So, I stole Paul's computer tonight to catch up. I had to post something that Will said tonight....

We were in the kitchen talking about his day. He told me about a girl in his class that can beat up boys. And, she can even beat up her dad! I asked him if he was friends with her. He then said...

"Well, I'll tell you one thing for sure, I'm not gonna marry a girl like that! I don't want to marry a 'daffodil' but I don't want to marry someone who beats boys up either."

I was CRACKING UP! I looked at Paul and we both said 'DAFFODIL?' at the same time! I have no idea where he heard that term. All I could think was maybe he was thinking, some boys are called pansy's for being weak, so maybe a "too girly" girl would be a daffodil?

Fall Polish Picks COMING SOON! Pray for Comcast to get ON THE BALL and fix our internet!
